Rolls-Royce Pledges Decades of Battery Support for Spectre Electric Coupé

Rolls-Royce has unveiled a long-term support plan for its all-electric Spectre coupé, including a commitment to replace battery packs for at least 25 years-positioning the model not simply as an EV, but as a future collectable intended to be used for decades and passed on to subsequent owners.

Battery Modules Planned Through to Mid-Century

The company said it has already built provisions into its supply planning to ensure new battery modules for Spectre can be produced and provided through to the middle of the century. The move is designed to address one of the biggest concerns for affluent buyers and collectors as electric cars age: what happens to the battery over the long term.

Testing Data Underpins a 15-Year, Unlimited-Mileage Battery Warranty

Rolls-Royce said Spectre prototypes covered more than 100,000 kilometres of testing across a range of climate conditions. After 62,000 miles of driving, the firm reported the battery retained 99% of its capacity-figures that informed a 15-year battery warranty with no mileage limit.

Spectre Climbs the Sales Rankings in 2025

In 2025, Spectre became Rolls-Royce’s second most popular model worldwide. The company said the electric coupé outperformed the Wraith coupé and Dawn convertible in initial sales. Most customers opted for bespoke configurations, which Rolls-Royce indicated reflects intentions to keep the car for the long term.

Electrification Framed as Part of the Brand’s Longevity Ethos

The long-tail battery strategy underlines Rolls-Royce’s wider approach to electrification, presenting it as an extension of the marque’s durability-focused philosophy. With EV technology evolving rapidly, the company is aiming to cement Spectre among new cars in 2026 as an electric vehicle designed for decades of ownership rather than short upgrade cycles.
