Carbonfibre-bodied 911-inspired restomod revealed with 420hp Cosworth-assisted flat-six

Silver sports car with carbon fibre detailing displayed in a well-lit showroom, labelled "Cosworth 420" on the front.

A new classic-era Porsche 911-inspired project has been unveiled, blending 1980s Turbo styling cues with modern materials and technology - including a carbonfibre body, a freshly engineered high-revving 4.0-litre flat-six and a new electrically operated folding roof. Pricing has not been announced.

Turbo-era styling and a stiffer carbonfibre structure

The car’s body is made from carbonfibre and takes its design inspiration from Turbo variants of the 1980s. To improve rigidity, the structure has been reinforced with additional steel and composite components.

A newly developed, two-piece electrically folding roof is fitted. Buyers are offered two exterior themes: a more track-focused look with pronounced aerodynamic detailing, and a Touring version that features an active rear spoiler.

4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six delivers 420hp

Power comes from a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated boxer (flat-six) engine producing 420hp. The unit features variable valve timing, water-cooled cylinder heads, and air-cooled cylinders, with a redline of 8,000rpm.

The engine was developed with input from Cosworth and is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

Track-minded hardware and modern cabin technology

Equipment highlights include:

  • Carbon-ceramic brakes
  • 18-inch centre-lock wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres
  • Five traction-control settings
  • A front-axle lift system for improved ground clearance
  • Infotainment with satellite navigation and Apple CarPlay

Modern tuning approach built around the classic 911 formula

The project is being positioned as a contemporary take on modifying cars from the classic era, while retaining the original 911 architecture. The maker has not disclosed the car’s price.
